Projexorcism’s new CARB-O-LOAD video

Recorded in one take using four Bell & Howell 16mm projectors, running four educational films all dealing with the topic of food. The projectors are enslaved to build our new food pyramid, with sugar at it’s base.
No video post-editing was performed. No film pre-editing was performed either. All films are shown in their original unspliced linear form, and manipulated via a lighting controller. The projectors are suspended with bicycle chains from a lighting rack which is why the images jerk and move out of frame. The sometimes extreme flicker is caused by projectors #1 and #2, which are often not syncing at the 24fps my Canon Vixia HF100 records at.
Jacob Lunow provides all of the other sound. Pumped through Alesis Midiverb and Beghringer mixer effects are a Casio SK-1 keyboard, Hiwatt Echo Theremin, a Buddha Machine, 2 laptops running Windows Media Player (lol), and the special ingredient: a circuit bent Speak & Spell forged in the fires of Mordor by Khate (which I won at the 2005 804Noise Fest back in 2005).

International Email Audio Art Project Volume 12: Compiled by Hal McGee
Projexorcism has a brand new audio track on Hal McGee’s International Email Audio Art Project, Volume 12 called Silent Libyan Stunt Ramp. It’s a one take piece with Jacob manipulating a microcassette of CNN, and myself slowly ramping up the volume on a ‘silent’ film.

The Homemade Music Movement has grown from the roots of the Mail Art Movement, and in order to pay due respect and acknowledge these origins, I propose an international EMAIL audio art project in which contributors will send to me a one-minute miniature audio work in mp3 format (plus visual works if desired) attached to an email. These works will be published together in volumes online.
